One of my middle daughters came up with this (I do not know from where), and up scaled it for us. It is relatively new to our menu (6 months or so) but is liked enough that it has entered into the rotation and will be a round a while. most of our chicken is canned hens that have stopped laying (to tough for frying or baking, but great for noodles, casseroles, and other long cooked dishes). Just boil them with carrots, onions, and other stuff then remove the bones and can them in the stock that is produced (can the excess stock too). We are not there, but our goal is to be 80+ food independent by the end of this year where what we choose to buy is luxury or other wise not strictly required.
