Welcome, once again, to my Asylum. This week we will discus climate change. I feel that this is important because it is the never-ending emergency that justifies impoverishing the world. No other topic will have as great an impact on your life in the next decade. I say this because climate change is the ultimate driver for all the policies that will result in food shortages, fuel shortages, and an irreparably broken power grid, among other things. Before we get started, let me say I absolutely believe that the climate changes, has been changing, and will change all the time, now and forever. Yet, I honestly don’t think that humans understand the weather, let alone climate, well enough to have any real idea why the climate changes, nor do I think humans are honestly capable of have any significant impact on climate for good or ill.
Before we go any further, let us define our terms. Merriam-Webster defines weather as follows (here):
1: the state of the atmosphere with respect to heat or cold, wetness or dryness, calm or storm, clearness or cloudiness
2: state or vicissitude of life or fortune
3: disagreeable atmospheric conditions: such as
a: RAIN, STORM
Merriam-Webster defines climate as follows (here):
1: a region of the earth having specified climatic conditions
His physician advised moving to a warmer climate.
2a: the average course or condition of the weather at a place usually over a period of years as exhibited by temperature, wind velocity, and precipitation
Then, if we look to NASA, we will be told that weather is essentially the atmospheric conditions of an area over a short period of time and climate is the average condition of the atmosphere over long periods of time (here). For the purposes of this paper, weather is the current or near-term atmospheric conditions and climate is the average of weather conditions over time.
The argument being used by World Economic Forum (WEF) and United Nations (UN) to push environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives (here and here) is that the world is heating up and coastal cities are going to flood. They sensationalize modest changes in weather patterns or natural events, some of them not even out of the expected range, to promote an idea that we are all doomed because we are killing our planet. Those in various power-seeking organizations have expressed an urgency that we submit and surrender our rights and way of life quickly or else we will all die. I would think it is already too late if this were a real thing. I remember being told in the 90s that if we don’t act in 10 years it will be too late, but do you remember the famine that would be caused by global cooling? Starvation was supposed to be the norm by 1975, reported in 1969. Or, do you remember the many frantic reports of global cooling leading to a new ice age throughout the 70s? Do we remember the reports of solar radiation to kill us all through the hole in the ozone layer from the 80s? Then, on to global warming by the 90s (here, here, here, here, and here). All of these things were reported by such institutions as the New York Times, Boston Globe, and Time Magazine. The dire predictions continue to this day, but so far they were all wrong. If they were right, all the great coastal cities would be artificial reefs right now.
The fact is that climate is weather over time, and as we all know, the larger an area and the longer the time one tries to predict, the less accurate the prediction. Local weather forecasts according to National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) are about 90% accurate to 5 days in the future, 80% out to 7 days, but drop to 50% or less from 8 days in the future going forward (here). The difficulty of accurately predicting weather is also complicated by the size of the area of prediction (here). That being the case, if climate is just weather over time and the larger the area covered the more difficult the prediction, if small area forecasts are only 50% accurate after 7 days with decreasing accuracy over time, how is any reasonable person supposed to believe that global predictions covering decades have any chance of accuracy? The truth is we have only had the technology to measure and record accurate weather data since the 1880s (here) and we still do not fully understand all the factors that contribute to short-term weather, let alone long-term climate patterns (here). We add to that the fact that we have only been able to guess, based off ice cores, what the climate of the past was since the 1980s, even though cores have been collected since the 50s (here).
Then why do 97% of climate scientists agree on man-made global warming, you may ask? The truth is that 97% don’t believe or it isn’t clear that they believe in man-made global warming. What they do believe is that the planet is getting warmer, but the majority of papers do not list a cause (here). Then we have Climate-gate 1 and 2. These are emails verified to be real from core scientists in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the United Nations’ primary climate change authority. The first batch of emails clearly showed how any scientist who questioned the conclusions or data on climate change, even when their decent was based in science, had their reputations, both personal and professional, assassinated in an attempt to chill any real scientific inquiry into the topic of global warming. The second is essentially a group of emails that show discussions on the weakness of the data and the fact the “scientists” involved see climate change as a political and social issue more than a scientific one (here, here, here, here, and here). Then, there is the money, and don’t doubt there is real money in fearmongering (here). The mainstream media mostly either ignored the emails or acted as apologist to explain them away, much in the same way we have seen them handle Hunter Biden’s laptop and other legitimate news that could disrupt the approved narrative (here, here, and here). The truth is there is a lot of disagreement (here).
It is increasingly clear that the oligarchs that pander for control due to the horrific and pressing nature of man-made climate change (Note, it went from global cooling, to warming, to climate change over the course of 40 years as their predictions of the moment failed to materialize.) either don’t believe it is really happening or believe they can force the masses into poverty to prevent it. This is continually demonstrated by their purchasing of multi-million dollar coastal estates that, if climate change is real, will be underwater in the next few years, and their continued use of private jets to travel in the least green manner possible for both business and pleasure (here, here, and here), while a number of the most prominent alarmists, who personally buy coastal mansions and fly around in private jets, make huge profits off of the trade in carbon offsets (here).
I believe that the climate is probably changing, but I do not believe anyone knows why or that it is even likely man has anything to do with it. I suppose it is possible, but in truth the real evidence is lacking and the evidence of man-made global warming being a political ploy is, in my opinion, fairly damming, especially when we look at how little the most powerful proponents of the idea seem to be acting on the urgency. Then, there is the other side. What if man-made climate change is real? Is trying to prevent its speculated problems really worth the known real-world suffering that would be caused by trying to prevent it? We are beginning to see it in food shortages and revolutions around the world (here and here). The truth is, at this point in history, it is impossible to support our current standards of living, global development in the third world, or even feed the world’s population while attempting to stop climate change, a thing that might not even be a real issue (here, here, here, and here). It is, however, a great cudgel to beat humans into submission to a new kind of global Communism under the guise of Stakeholder Capitalism. I point all of this out because of all the issues used to divide us the issue of global warming, more than any other, is being used to impoverish and control us. There is no such thing as settled science because once it is settled beyond question it is faith and no longer science.
Proverbs 6:16-19
There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.
God Bless you
-Sam
In the last paragraph above the scripture, did you mean "stakeholder" capitalism? Good article.
