"I have five other partial missives this week that I got 500-800 words into on different topics and they just didn’t feel right so they went into the notes folder to perhaps be drawn on again in the future, or not."
Sam. (*SIGH*) I wish you all the luck in the world MAKING MONEY off this substack... but when you're writing for here but can't make enough time to write a piece you feel WORTHY of posting here... just post the "rough" version on your Fascistbook page. I personally want to hear as much from you as you're willing to write.
In any case... THIS piece you've written... (*STANDING OVATION*) WONDERFUL! RIGHT ON TARGET! I agree with every word you wrote!
I work a full time job, maintain a homestead, and do my best to fulfill my duty to God as a man, my Wife as a husband, and my kids as a father. I also have a strong desire to provide quality content to this page. The results are that I spend 30+ hours usually after the kids are in bed between 2000-2400 writing these papers, and since Friday is Paid I want it to worth the $1-3 a month (there is always a discount on the minimum subscription rate ($5) at least until I get 500 paying subscribers) so I really try to provide 1200+ words. I don't know what happens exactly but sometimes I will start a paper strong and it will get away from me and go down seemingly unrelated rabbit holes. The transitions and connections make sense to me however I know that others can get lost or it will sound like nonsense to them. As a result I set those papers aside and either wait for more evidence of the connection to come to light so others can more easily follow my brain (it happens way more frequently than seems normal), another series of points more directly related to the topic occur to me (this is fairly common as well), or they just rot in my notes folder never to see the light of day or to be dissected for paragraphs and sources. Anyway it is a quality\time decision, and I mention it because I like my readers to know that I really do value the quality of my content over the quantity produced. If I ever get a reasonable subscriber base of a few thousand it would free up the time to publish more content, but we are not there yet. Thank you for the complement on this weeks work writing I do appreciate the feed back.
