Welcome, friends. By now all of you have heard that there was an unprecedented first-time leak of a Supreme Court opinion (here, here, here, and here), and it appears to provide legal justification for reversal of Roe v. Wade. While abortion is a hot button issue, the ruling itself is irrelevant next to what is happening surrounding this event. Pundits can get hyperbolic about January 6th, 9/11, or any of a number of other incidents. The pundits can screech all day about threats to democracy (Note, democracy is horrible as bad as communism, socialism, or Nazism and should be threatened as such). The leak of the ruling is an act of terrorism much more dangerous to our Republic than anything that has happened since the Civil War.
When I say this leak is the most dangerous thing since the Civil War, I am not being hyperbolic. If anything, I am understating the danger. If you remember from grade school our country was founded as a Constitutional Republic with the intention of dividing federal powers between three branches of government. Where in a perfect world the congress makes laws, the executive branch carries out the laws, and the courts interpret the laws in light of the constitution (here). While the lines have been blurred, and various branches have conceded their authority to other branches, and all such action has weakened and damaged our republic. The fact remains that the court’s, and especially the Supreme Court’s, ability to act without external influence to interpret the constitution is imperative to any future our nation might have.
The worst part is further leaking (After over 200 years, apparently the Supreme Court has become a sieve) has indicated. The leaked ruling was based on an initial vote, and the Chief Justice was trying to sway his colleagues to change their opinions (here) by writing an opinion that upheld Mississippi’s law and still kept Roe intact. I don’t know, but I imagine that these types of negotiations, conversations, and deliberations are common on the court, as each justice has their own interpretation of the law and constitution. I would also imagine it is a way to gain more support and appear more united as well. These types of deliberations are probably why very narrow rulings are much more common than wide and sweeping rulings. That being said, the response to the broad draft ruling leaves the court little choice but to stick to its guns and pull the trigger as written or lose credibility while appearing to bow to terrorist.
With this leak, we see the autonomy of the court threatened and acts of domestic terrorism on a scale (for number, not raw severity) not seen since the 1860s. Now, before you start with the ‘Terrorism? What is he talking about?’ let me present you with the definition of the term because contrary to some contemporary beliefs, words still do mean things.
The Cambridge Dictionary defines terrorism as:
(threats of) violent action for political purposes (here)
The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines terrorism as:
the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion (here)
Dictionary.com defines terrorism as:
the unlawful use of violence or threats to intimidate or coerce a civilian population or government, with the goal of furthering political, social, or ideological objectives (here)
The FBI defines terrorism as:
violent, criminal acts committed by individuals and/or groups to further ideological goals stemming from domestic influences, such as those of a political, religious, social, racial, or environmental nature (here)
So, as soon as the possible ruling was leaked we get leftist blue-checks, like journalist Simon Gwynn on Twitter (here), suggesting the following:
“Interesting real life trolley problem in America now. If you had the chance to kill Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito, the two oldest right wing Supreme Court judges should you do it while Biden can get his nominees to replace them confirmed?”
“It’s interesting as an abstract question but becomes a real conundrum if, say, you’re terminally ill and have little to lose yourself, but know that it could save many women’s lives in the future.”
This was followed by the DOXING (the publication of private information to a public space with the intent to intimidate the target [here]) of the Justices on the Supreme Court and protesting at their homes (here). With the recent history of left protests devastating major cities, no rational person could possibly believe there is any other intent behind any of this than to intimidate the Justices into changing their possible votes for political reasons. Making these acts terrorism by definition. It is also interesting to note that any protest designed to influence judicial deliberations is illegal under 18 U.S.C. § 1507 that reads:
“Whoever, with the intent of interfering with, obstructing, or impeding the administration of justice, or with the intent of influencing any judge, juror, witness, or court officer, in the discharge of his duty, pickets or parades in or near a building housing a court of the United States, or in or near a building or residence occupied or used by such judge, juror, witness, or court officer, or with such intent uses any sound-truck or similar device or resorts to any other demonstration in or near any such building or residence, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both.” (here)
The protests are illegal and by definition terrorism, but unfortunately the Executive Branch has failed to act to either prosecute or condemn these terrorists and has given them their support (here, here, and here). To make matters worse, elected officials are actively encouraging this terroristic behavior including The Senate majority leader and Speaker of the House of Representatives (here, here, here, and here). This is a real threat to the very foundation of our country because now, if the court makes any ruling other than to overturn Roe v. Wade, then it is clear that we are a nation ruled by threat and force rather than law. It will open the way for any group to use terror as a tool to influence the direction of any aspect of government in the United States.
I find the response interesting especially with how these same people continue to respond to the January 6th incident. Even after it is growing much clearer with the growing list of acquittals due to capitol police holding doors open and inviting protestors into the capital (here) and that over 80 confirmed instigators of the only violence that day have been totally overlooked, as it turns out, many were working for the FBI (here). While video emerges of regular (not FBI plants) protestors protecting police (here). We already know most domestic terrorism is the product of FBI self-justification (here). That whatever happened wasn’t what they want us to believe happened. Then sadly, as with the ‘fiery but mostly peaceful protests’ (violent and bloody riots), secession of sections of American cities (actual acts of treasonous rebellion), murder, rape, and theft left unchecked across blue-state America, we can expect no answer except praise from those in power to the current terrorist acts specifically intended to create fear in the Justices for their lives and the lives of their families, so as to affect a ruling (here, here, here, here, and here).
We clearly find ourselves in a country where in many places any criminal behavior, act of defiance, violence, theft, or rape will be excused and overlooked entirely so long as you are of the correct political affiliation or color. And, asking questions, refusal to submit, or protest of any kind will be crushed, your livelihood destroyed, and you may be imprisoned in solitary confinement for years on misdemeanor charges if you are of the wrong political affiliation or color. This isn’t the rule of law. This isn’t justice. And, this isn’t America. That is why, no matter what you think of this Supreme Court ruling, if you are of good conscience you must draw the line here. If we allow our courts to be intimidated into ruling with the mob and not with the law, we are lost completely and totally, with no chance of ever recovering.
This is the woke mania that seems to have swept a large part of our nation and the worst thing you can do when attacked by them is to back down, apologize, or acknowledge them if you can avoid it. We had one night of attempted riots in Oklahoma City over the summer of 2020 and our police and DA handled it perfectly, at least if the goal was to protect property, maintain justice, and keep the peace. The protest was allowed without hinderance until the first window was broken. At that point police cleared the streets and arrested some people. Then the next day, when a manifesto was released making political demands and seeming to threaten more and bigger riots, the DA upgraded all the charges from misdemeanors to terrorism (a felony) and the insanity stopped instantly (here, here, and here). In all honesty, we need more of that to quell the violence. I don’t care the cause you support, I am in favor of your demonstration, from the KKK, BLM, Women’s March, March for Life, or any other thing. I will fight to the death so you can march around, honk horns, make noise, wave posters, even to the point of blocking traffic and keeping people up at night (unless you are blocking an ambulance transporting a patient or a fire truck. One can’t block things like that). No problem, do your thing, vent your spleen, and let the world know why you are mad. Maybe you change some minds, maybe you don’t, but you can get all the press and visibility you want. Heck, even burn your opponents in effigy (in the finest American traditions [here]). That being said, the first time a protest breaks a window, flips a car, steels anything or otherwise begins to deteriorate to a riot, shut it down instantly. Do your best to prosecute the trouble makers for what they did and ticket the rest with disorderly conduct or whatever, but the minute they link the violence to a political manifesto, bring on the terrorism charges. The other option, I suppose, would be to just say fuck it and go full Mad Max and not prosecute anyone, just to see what happens. Either way, the standard must be enforced universally no matter the color, creed, political affiliation, or any other factor of the group involved.
The way we are going now, and the tensions that are being created, can only end in blood, fire, and destruction, as such we cannot allow our governance to be ruled by terrorist threats, just as we need to enact systems to curtail the fact that our Legislative and Executive Branches are for sale. Especially to foreign powers (here, here, here, here, and here [I apologize these are mostly links about the Clintons and Bidens, but much like the special prosecutor, I couldn’t find evidence for Trump or other prominent Republicans, but this doesn’t mean I don’t think it is out there some place]). This must stop and we must return to a place of truth, law, and justice. At this point, for the sake of the republic, the leaked draft ruling must be the final ruling or we prove that as a nation we can and will be ruled by bullies and terrorists. Sadly, the foundations of our republic, the very things that made our country a great and shining beacon to the world’s downtrodden for over 200 years, are succumbing to rot and the greatest threats are all domestic rather than foreign. I don’t have any answers and don’t know we can save anything at this point. So, prepare yourselves and your families with food, fuel, arms, and ammunition. Have someplace rural and off the beaten track if you can.
