Welcome once again, my dearest readers, to the Asylum. It is with a heavy heart and much introspection over the last several months that I have concluded the United States is not becoming a socialist nation, but we are unfortunately a fully socialist nation as bad as Venezuela, Cuba, or Russia in its heyday. It saddens me greatly, but over the course of this missive I will lay out my case and allow you to decide for yourselves if it is true or not.
I don’t think this was some secret multi-generational plan carried out by a Cabal in secret meetings for over a hundred years. I think this is the result of generations of the richest men bending capitalism just a little more away from a free market and America away from freedom for their immediate personal gain with little thought of future impacts, from the unconscionable Federal Reserve Act to the questionably passed 16th Amendment (here, here, and here). Unfortunately, even though I am completely convinced that the 16th Amendment wasn’t properly ratified, I also realize that by the time I was born the lie had the weight of history behind it and that fact was irrelevant. Before you say there is no way they could have pulled off a scam like that and kept it quiet, I will point out that communication wasn’t the same back then as it is now, and they have before (here). Besides, they didn’t need to keep it quiet forever. Seriously, after a decade, most involved were dead and most of the voting public knew nothing else their entire lives. Frankly, by then, the public had more pressing things to deal with. Please note, that is how most of our decay into the totalitarian socialist republic we are today happened. Essentially, the government lies about what it is doing, suppresses opposition and if necessary, holds votes at zero dark thirty with minimal notice to the opposition (here, here, and here).
Sadly, most legislation is hundreds, if not thousands, of pages long. Very little of it is on a single topic, and if it is, than amendments and riders are added, typically having nothing to do with the bill. These add-on pieces often failed to pass on their own and are often highly questionable. However, the games are played, and it is allowed to sneak into law this way to secure a vote for something in the larger bill. Then, these franken-bills, as large or larger than most novels, are brought to a vote less than an hour after the final text has been released. Essentially, Congress in both houses are voting totally blind, with little to no knowledge of what they are voting on. Laws often written by the corporations and industries they are meant to regulate, but I suppose that is what the companies are paying them for (here, here, here, here, here, here, and here). It becomes more and more clear that the government in Sodom on the Potomac doesn’t represent you. Like all good socialist regimes, it represents growing and maintaining power, wealth, and influence for those connected at the top. While the media likes to scream about the failures of capitalism, really it is the failure of socialism in capitalist clothing.
If one decided to, and many do, one could live completely off the state, cradle to grave, from Medicaid at birth, Section 8, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (not temporary) (TANIF), Food Stamps (called SNAP today), Disability (mental, if nothing else)(As I have seen in acquaintances, if at first you don’t succeed try try again. It will go through eventually.), utility assistance, and other supports all on the government’s dime. Average rates of benefit-equivalent values put recipients in the top 20% of earners and often result in it being economically detrimental for recipients to actually get a job and earn a wage (here and here). The defense of these policies are that they are a hand-up or they help people overcome (insert terrible thing here). While this is occasionally true, and I know people who have used these programs as stepping stones to a better life, those people are a very small minority (here, here and here). Then, there are the pensioners on Social Security. While yes, we all paid into it, not a single one of us has ever had any right to receive it. After the inception of Social Security (SS) in 1936, it was challenged in court in 1937 and much like the Obama-care fine, the government defended the SS takings as a tax. As such, not even a year after its beginning, the Supreme Court ruled in Helvering v. Davis that “The proceeds of both (employee and employer) taxes are to be paid into the Treasury like internal revenue taxes generally, and are not earmarked in any way.” As such, from that point forward the government was and is free to collect all the Social Security taxes it wants and is not required to ever use them to send Social Security checks. Then, in 1960, there was the case of Flemming v. Nestore that ruled “To engraft upon the Social Security system a concept of ‘accrued property rights’ would deprive it of the flexibility and boldness in adjustment to ever changing conditions which it demands.” The Court went on to say, “It is apparent that the non‐contractual interest of an employee covered by the [Social Security] Act cannot be soundly analogized to that of the holder of an annuity, whose right to benefits is bottomed on his contractual premium payments.” This ruling essentially reaffirmed and clarified the earlier Helvering v. Davis ruling. This essentially says that Congress can increase, decrease, or deny payment for any reason, provided it is evenly applied. Sure, Nestor was a communist dirtbag, but in the present state of our nation what other affiliations might be banned from SS if Congress wills it? All that being said, since SS carries no specific right, than the receipt thereof is welfare by definition and under US law. Like all other forms of welfare, it breeds dependency, even just a little, on the state (here, here, here, here, and here).
Further, the government has its claws in the middle and lower-upper classes as well, due initially to artificially suppressed lending standards in the early 2000s and then to the artificially suppressed interest rates of the Fed trying to clean up the mess from regulated low lending standards. Got to have diversity, inclusion, and equity (DEI) in lending, even if it kills us. These interventions (Any government intervention in a market is Marxist, as it directly or indirectly controls the means of production.) have caused the price of housing (here, here, and here) to increase so much that almost everyone needs government assistance to buy a home. It doesn’t matter if it is VA, HUD, Fannie, Freddie, or the Department of Agriculture, over 50% of all outstanding mortgages are government backed. This allows the mistakes of the past to be ignored, as the government will make lenders whole even when they are making mortgages to 580 credit scores with 3% down, at prime interest rates (These people couldn’t buy a car outside of 50% down or a buy-here-pay-here place.) (here, here, and here). Sadly, since there is no personal cost, there is no impetus for improvement. Since the correct people made a massive amount of money, both in equity and real estate, the last time around, they will do it again.
Then of course, there is education from pre-kindergarten to graduate degree full indoctrination because that is where the money comes from since at least 1980.
To recap, the Congress of the United States represents the corporate interests that pay them, not the people. They have passed sufficient laws, guided most major industries, and regulated behavior to the point almost everyone is at least a little dependent, except them and those who pay them of course. To make matters worse, say you save and work and after 40 years have a home with a little land that you have the mortgage paid off on. That is the dream, your own little piece of freedom and achievement, right? No, sorry, that isn’t the case. We are at a point where the state owns all property and as such owns everything on the property. Thereby, at this point in time, even if it is with a velvet glove, most of the time the government has seized the means of production. It doesn’t matter if you are a company or private person. It doesn’t matter if you have fully paid off your mortgage and in theory owe nothing on the property. It still isn’t yours. The second the government decides it knows better than you what to do with your property it will take it through eminent domain (here, here, and here). Well, at least they have to pay fair market value, you say? What is fair market value for something you don’t want to sell? Is there a fair market value for say great grandmothers’ engagement ring from the depression? Sure, it’s just silver and zircon. Would you take $25 for the fair market value on the materials in the ring or any price? Don’t worry, if you won’t accept their price or fight too much, they will just condemn your property and then pay you far under market value. No, nothing happened, just the lords at the state house decided it was condemned so you can be removed by force and the place is next to worthless (Even if someone doesn’t provide a sufficient campaign contribution to take the land out from underneath you, just fail to pay the wergild serf rent to the lords on Capitol Hill. Then they will remove you from “your” land, I guess because you were impudent enough to think you paid for it (here, here, and here).
In a way, sadly, you already own nothing. Don’t even get me started on the secret police or the regular ones for that matter. Seriously, for almost 10 years running, regular police have stolen more property and cash than all criminal thieves combined. They don’t call it theft, they call it civil asset forfeiture. This is where a cop thinks your property or money was involved in a crime, so they take it. Unfortunately, there is no requirement to prove any criminal activity, there is no requirement to file any charges, and no requirement for probable cause. For example, you have $4,000 in your wallet because you are going to look at and hopefully buy a used car. The cop sees your money when you get out your ID. At that moment he decides only a drug dealer would have that much money, so he takes it. It doesn’t matter that you try to explain you are looking at used cars. Once he decides he wants it, if you resist, he will kill you (here, here, here, here, and here). Police claim civil asset forfeiture keeps crime down, but the real truth is it keeps police organizations and district attorneys funded (here, here, and here). What happened to “will not be deprived of…?” Oh, never mind. This is the USSA. Since litigation to recover your stuff (You have to prove it is innocent. You can’t make this stuff up.) is very expensive, in many cases it costs more to fight than it does to just shut up and take it. Such a free republic we live in….
Then, there is the federal law enforcement that acts more and more like the KGB, Stasi, or other black site secret police organization, all under the banner of the Department of Motherland… Um Homeland Security. If folks aren’t worried enough about terrorists or other type of crime, no worries the FBI will just find some patsy, manipulate them, train them, up and then get them to carry out a plan the FBI made to sting the poor idiot, frighten the people, and create threats to justify their existence (here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here). Seriously, it is so common I think it is standard operating procedure. Need some fear of right-wing extremists? Send some agents to a blue state, find some informants, and talk them into kidnaping the governor and when they agree to the FBI plan, arrest them. It really is frightening.
The government monitors and tracks all communication without a warrant or suspicion of crime. People disappear in the dead of night by the Feds for spurious reasons. And, it makes lists of its own citizens, essentially who is compliant and who is not. It is ugly and I hate it but there is little to no difference between the modern USSA and any half-baked socialist tyranny that has ever existed (here, here, here, here, here, and here).
There is nothing of the republic left and little, if any, of the freedom it promised. While the government hasn’t yet claimed ownership of industry, they do a fair job of planning and controlling how it is run or maybe it is industry that plans and controls how the government is run. If it is socialism or if it is fascism doesn’t really matter as they are just different riffs on the same cord. We are not the generation of men our founders were as I believe they would have taken the field long ago. God help us all because the next steps are real chains or blood and it won’t be long before we have to decide.
Jeremiah 22:13
13 Woe to him who builds his palace by unrighteousness, his upper rooms by injustice, making his own people work for nothing, not paying them for their labor.
God Bless you
